wirelessss yesss!

ohhhhh it feels GREAT to be alive!
we finally got a wireless router for the internet - and there's NO problems so far.
max bought it, and me, being the tech guru that i am, i installed it!
it was so easy, and its so convenient! it works throughout the house, and even on the roof! it feels so good to be able to get updates on the internet and stuff right here in my bedroom at 32 brendon street! so lookout, i'll be posting more than usual now. but-> not going to waste too much time, there's too much else to be doing.

So, quick recap, its been a while, i left off with thursday of last week on my last post. friday was a work day from morning to evening, and at night we had some people over and played cards. this was our "relax" weekend, because we had alot of work to do, and we had to rest up for this weekend which is going to be crrrrazy!

saturday is when i posted last, it was a relaxing day, it felt good to do no work. at night we went to this video store and rented the movie 'love actually' (courtney and i did). i only agreed so easily because the movie's based in london, and it was crazy to be seeing sites i see daily... and it was a good movie. not too much of a chick flick, but you can't really hide the fact that it was a chick flick. 2 pounds gives us a movie for a whole week, which is pretty good i thought. dvd, not vhs.

that just reminded me of a story my roomate andrew told me.
apparently there is a secret tube station somewhere in london, that they use to film all the movies that feature the london underground. like apparently there have been james bond movies filmed there, and all sorts of other movies filmed at this top secret location. he has a book called secrets of the london underground or something, and it says how you can get there and see it, so i think we're going to chekc it out sometime.

so, we just watched the movie saturday night, and went to bed. plan was to go to church sunday am, then go to faraday all day to work. so dad gave me the list of churches, right, and we went searching for the ones that were closest. theres a brilliant site out there called thetube.com, and its like mapquest.com, and you can just say where you want to go, and where you are now, and it will tell you which underground line to take, and where to walk, and if you need to take a bus, and how long the whole journey will take. so we checked most of the churches, and but i think destiny picked the one we went to. st mary of the angels is what its called, and when we went to the site, there was a picture of st. charles boromeo (my syracuse parish), and it ended up being the closest, so we went there!

there is st. mary of the angels, which is in historic (every place is historic) notting hill. an easy 25 minute commute, and its a great neighborhood. but apperently, there are alot of portugese people that live in the area, so they have a mass in portugese every sunday. we went to the english one, but it was still a new experience. and it felt good to get into a catholic church.

sunday night was of course, the super bowl. not much interest from the house, even me, i didn't really care that much about the teams, but it was a nice "break" from being in london, so i could watch american tv. unfortunately tho - no american commercials. the local channel just tapped into the US channel, and added some of there own (awful) commentary along the way. but for the most part, we were all busy doing work here, and couldn't stop working because we had a huge presentation today.

and there's the weekend ladies and gents. we did end up booking a hostel this weekend in paris, and we're booking a trip on the eurostar train that goes under the engish channel tonight. but we all have so much work to do before then! i have another huge presentation monday, and then tuesday is valentines day, and then wednesday i have a 1500 word paper due. its going to be a crazy week, but like i said, im going to try and pluck away at it this week.

ok - misc. stuff here - we had a contest (well, not really much of a contest) and i won: i'm officially the tallest person in the house. woohoo!

and more pictures are coming in a few minutes! still working on videos, but if they get put up soon, there wil def be a link for you to enjoy them at.
