blue man group tonight!
mark's here (courtney's bro), and we're going to see blue man group tonight at this place:
its in covent garden, which is one of the cooler places here. lots of shops and stuff. i don't know about this event! courtney's been, and said it was cool. i guess it could get messy tho, our seats are in the 2nd row... so i'm going to be bringing my camera, and we'll see if i get any good shots. if i do, i'll put them up tonight. if i have the time. lots of work, its midterm week. i had a midterm today in my masterpieces of london class, and it was pretty good. the only hard thing was the time limit. 15 minute time limit to write everything you can about 2 pieces of art (4 times (so a total of 8 pieces)).
this weekend has been strictly buisness, too.. we did work friday night, and saturday night. and during the day it was work too. but its not stressful, i have a different outlook on life over here. i'm trying to not get stressed, and not complain about work. i'll do the work when i can, in between things if i have to. such was the case saturday - some people just went shopping on the way to faraday house to do work... so i just went with them. it made sense. why waste time inside doing work. it was a great walk around, and its always great to investigate new areas of london, or new shops. we went into a MASSIVE art store, that was incredible. 3 stories, it had a cafe nero inside, which is the popular coffee shop here. and then sunday on my way to do work at faraday house, for a group project, i walked oxford street, just because it was a nice day, and i didn't want to waste the day doing work. so i went passed this place called 'sport world' and it said 'going out of business - everything up to 90% off.' so i went in. and it was great. if i had wanted to, and if i had the money, i could have bought lots. but instead, i bought a hooded zipper sweatshirt for 9 pounds, down from 40. its a brand called lonsdale, which is a london company, very posh over here, lots of people are wearing them, and i feel like it will help me fit in. plan is to wear it like a spring coat when the weather gets a little bit nicer. my first real purchased "personal object" in london, and it should make a good souvenir for the trip.
the week outlook: tonight will be rough, big project due tomorrow, tomorrow night, equally rough - big paper due wednesday. then wednesday night, i'm cooking, and that should be it - i'll be on spring break! 2 days off, thurs and fri to do work, and then saturday we ship out for spain. i don't know if i've typed the spring break agenda in the blog yet, so here it is: saturday we're flying to madrid, and busing to salamanca, in spain. its a college type town, but its in spain, and courtney knows someone there very well, so we'll have a contact. monday late afternoon we're flying to rome from madrid, and staying there until friday morning, when we're taking the train to florence, italy, until sunday night. sunday night we're comign in late, but i have nothing due monday, and my first class isn't until 12:20. i'm starting to get really excited! my horrible week last night is definitely gone, and i can tell you exactly when the change-over happened: when i found the sweatshirt. i had been telling people that i wanted a lonsdale shirt, because they're truly a london fashion. and it was destiny that i found it. so i feel good, life is going great, anddd i'm just a happy-go-lucky chap!
