pubs, internships, teleconferences, etc.
great little week i just had here, not too much work, and it was exciting and fun.
monday night, as i stated in the post, i went to the pub, but it turned into a celebratory pub visit because courtney was notifited via email that she got the internship that she really wanted with Oprah magazine!!! huge news, huge news, this is a big deal, she's going to be livin in nyc and woring in the hearst building, which is a really cool glass building in the city. i'm a very proud boyfriend. so we went to the pub and had a little drink for celebration.
i went to the pub that night to do research for my newest comm design project too. the pub olympics! i hate to toot my own horn, but i think its one my best ideas yet. the class really digged it too. pretty pumped for the completion.
so that was monday, tuesday was pretty relaxing as well, just layed low. today was my day to cook, which was very successful. cheeseburgers and potato wedge things with carrots too. i think thats my meal, again, hate to toot my own horn, but i think its pretty good. and no complaints from the peanut gallery either.
but the big news tonight is that i may have finally gotten confirmation for an internship this summer! looks like its graph design/advertising for syracuse stage, which i could not be more excited about!!
today courtney got her hairs cut at vidal sassoon, which is a hair cutting academy here in town. only 4 pounds and it looks great!! it was cut by an apprentice, but it ended up looking very professional. we're all excited about that.
so then tonight me and courtney took advantage of the buy one get one free tickets at the odeon cinema if you have an orange phone. so the result is 3.50 for a ticket, which is cheaper than in the states. what did we see you might be asking youself? kind of embarassed by the fact that we saw a chick flick - failure to launch - but it wasn't THAT bad, and courtney joined me to v for vendetta, so we're even. theatre was cool again, just like the last one.
in other news, i made a life-size cutout of the queen today in my free time between classes. posted it on the wall right inside the studio so she hits you upon entry. the goal is to have it somewhere in the background of the teleconference on friday, so it looks like the queen mum is in the place. speaking of the teleconference - pretty excited about that! i don't know how its going to go, but it sounds like we're going to be just chatting, and the chances of me seeing some people from the cage seem good, so we'll see what happens! should be great tho, we're going to be having a little get together with food and drink in the studio that night while we wait to be on tv. then we're going to move the party to our flat for a small get together (possibly). excitement is in the air tho.
in house news, the count is up to 10 people! max's sister rachel and andrew's brother adam are stayin in the house this week, so we've got a very full house! 5 people per bathroom, 2 people sleepin on the couches in the living room, its getting crazy! i can't remember when we said the next time the house will be back to just 8, but there's quite a line up of people coming to stay. rachel and adam are cool, both in art, rachels in advertising and adam is an illustrator. both live in nyc. but its fun with everyone in the house. yea, just really busy.
thats it for now... got some sights we're going to see this weekend. might make it to bigun's rib joint, which is in zone 1, centra london, so not too far from here. i've heard its good food. but we're going to be seing some more sights this weekend!
goodnight, cheers!
